Sarah Tomlinson

Sarah graduated from Edinburgh in 2001 and has been in farm only practice in Derbyshire since 2007. As technical director for the TB Advisory Service Sarah strives to encourage farmers (and vets) to see TB as an infectious disease which we can have some control over. Since 2016 she has been a member of the TB Eradication and Advisory Group for England and is now sits on the new TB Partnership, a stakeholder group involved in TB policy, providing advice and evidence for the TB policy team in Defra.

More recently Sarah was invited to become a trustee of the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF) and has become a board member of the National Beef Association (NBA). She is also an active member of the National Farmers Union (NFU) locally and nationally and is keen to support the farming industry in all these roles.

Since joining the BCVA board in 2019, Sarah has been involved in the development of the BCVA TB policy document, the new CHECS TB Entry Level Scheme and the complimentary BCVA Accredited TB Veterinary Advisor training.

As a mum of 3 children and having worked both part time and full time, she is very keen to highlight to future colleagues, being a farm vet is the perfect career for anyone wanting a great work life balance.
