Nicky Bowden
Nicky grew up on a Cheshire dairy farm and after graduated from Glasgow University in 2007 she returned to the area to start her career. After a year in mixed practice she realised that her real passion was with farm animals, in particular dairy. After a few years in clinical practice in Cheshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire plus a bit of time in New Zealand, Nicky decided to explore life outside of traditional practice.
Nicky spend a few years working for AHDB, as part of what was then DairyCo’s knowledge transfer team. This gave her an opportunity to look at the whole farm system and the importance of communication. She then spent time with a global pharmaceutical company.
In 2019 she decided to return to practice but in a non-clinical role, as business development manager at Nantwich Farm Vets. This is a varied role involving supporting a large team of farm only clinical vets with everything from developing the support team to managing the social media.
Outside of work most of her time is taken up with two young children, but if she gets a chance you will probably find her in her garden.
