James Adams

James Adams

Hon. Secretary

James graduated in 2006 from Liverpool and hasspent the past 16 years doing large animal work in practice and in universities. After obtaining his Post-Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Education and American Diploma in Large Animal Internal Medicine he is currently locuming in farm practices dotted around Wales and the South-West whilst he thinks about what to do next with his career.

James has an interest in career development for those who are no longer considered recent graduates, as he thinks it’s vital to keep experienced vets within the clinical fold. Coupled with this is an eye on farm vet salaries, and where they should be at if we are to encourage vets to join and stay within the farm sector. He enjoys individual animal medicine and the role that plays in identifying herd problems and is keen that a stethoscope is still seen as a vital part of a vet’s equipment.

Outside of work he tends to get on a plane and chase the sun whenever time and finances allow.
