John Blackwell

John qualified from Liverpool University in 1985 and has worked in mixed practice mainly within the farm and first opinion equine side ever since. Starting off in Preston Lancashire and then moving to the Shropshire Welsh borders. President of BCVA (2008/9) and President of BVA (2014/16) he has represented the views of the Veterinary profession in many different arenas. Previously a member of the FVE medicines group, he retains a keen interest in the responsible use of medicines within the veterinary profession and the wider agricultural sector. He is currently Vice Chairman of AMTRA one of the regulatory bodies of SQP’s, prescribing POM-VPS medicines.
