BCVA Medicines Working Group
Lead – Elizabeth Berry
The Medicines Group represent and support members by:
- Developing BCVA Medicines Policy for approval by the Board.
- Representing BCVA on BVA Medicines Committee and providing established direct links with others, in relation to medicines, such as the RUMA Alliance, the NFU, NOAH, VMD, Antibiotic Action, FVE, the Veterinary Schools Council, the All Party Parliamentary Group on Antibiotics
- Producing educational material for both veterinary surgeons and farmers with other organisations such as RUMA, Dairy UK and BVA. For example the Best Practice to Prevent Medicine Residues in Milk poster and the RUMA guidelines: Responsible use of antimicrobials in cattle production and Responsible use of antimicrobials in Dry Cow Management.
- Working with the Education Group to produce medicines related CPD for Congress and the BCVA Medicines Course.
- Advising on medicines related dairy farm assurance.
- Scrutinising draft legislation with BVA and FVE.
- Providing advice direct to members on medicines related issues.
